Head gasket 6.0 powerstroke pressure test via coolant
Переглядів 7414 роки тому
Is my head gasket good? It presents that way. So why is coolant leaking into engine oil? Front cover seal? Oil cooler? There is no oil in coolant. Coolant is clean. I use green coolant, which mechanic just told me that green coolant can cause pitting behind the water pump and cause coolant to leak into engine from there.

How remove IPR (THE EASY WAY) without special tool on 6.0 powerstroke
Переглядів 16 тис.5 років тому
I was able to remove the IPR without the special socket that is made to remove the IPR. I used a 12" adjustable wrench to remove it... much easier and plenty of room that you dont have to remove certain brackets. BUT YOU NEED TO USE PB BLASTER TO LOOSEN IPR FIRST. I sprayed PB Blaster for approx 1.5 weeks, each day...on the IPR and then easily removed the valve. 2004.5 2004 6.0 powerstroke ford.

Years ago, my brother placed a white vertical mark on the firewall behind the intake manifold. I just simply drop a long socket right where that line is and it lands right on it, everytime. Then I follow the same procedure, very slowly and carefully, with a magnetic socket when placing the new plug in. Twist gently.

Bought a 2016 buick encore with 37k miles on it this year (2024) it was packed with a rats nest on top of the cabin air filter. My buddy said he saw a field mouse peek its head out under the plastic cover near windshield. I removed the nest on top of the air filter, but still have some work to do! Thanks for the video 👍 i noticed a feint smell of what i thought was either poop or death and it turns out it could be either.. the car is immaculate besides that, and i didnt notice before i bought it! I opened all the doors and checked it out thoroughly prior to driving it, and i let the smell air out enough to where it wasnt noticeable. After i had purchased it, i noticed the smell when i turned the air on, only sometimes though. The blower motor is vibrating like crazy when i turn it all the way up, i assume i will have to remove it and check it out

I used Lysol sprayed directly into outside vent where the air from outside gets into the vents with the blower on high. Helps kill off residual smell. Spray a lot of lysol

Great vid! Some fyi if you replace the sensor with an aftermarket sensor, alot of people report having issues with the cam sensor afterwards. You should replace both at the same time. This vid explains why aftermarket sensors have the issues they do and why it causes that problem ua-cam.com/video/Pjf-tacXOnI/v-deo.html

Questions to be answered: Why is the knock sensor code firing? Is the engine running so poorly, it is 'actually' knocking? Can a knock sensor 'go bad' and send a false signal or is that impossible? I assume it cannot, but I do not know. I am aware it is designed to produce an AC voltage (via piezo-electric effect) that only occurs if the engine is actually knocking and physically vibrating the sensor. If a knock sensor does go bad, can it send a false AC signal to the ECM and set CE light and a code? Again, I have to assume it cannot. All the above said, relocating the sensor will not cure an engine running so poorly it knocks, but it may place the sensor in a location isolated from the vibrations of a knocking engine and keep the CE light off and allow you to pass emissions test. The Caution is, you may be disguising a true knock and damage may result, depending upon the severity of the cause of the knock!

In California you are not allowed to relocate, if the smog guy catches you he has to report it "System tempered" and the car fails the smog. The second question is does it bother the computer? well the company put it there so the sensor detects knocks, by putting it all the way on top of intake it's not gonna detect well, you can put it on the block outside where the freeze plugs are many cars are like that from the factory, why bozo clown Nissan engineers put it in a such a difficult place I don't know, they don't care about the public about repair cost, among all three Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Nissan is the worst when it comes leaving room to work they put things so tight no room to work. I have been a mechanic 30+ years.

I have a mouse or two in the front of my Ford Escape that are up where the vent is at the base of the windshield. I've even seen them peek at me. It's really clear to them that I have no intention of killing them, but I do want them evicted. I've tried putting peppermint extract near the corners and I just put chunks of Irish Spring near the holes. I have a constant problem with mice and rats getting into my engines. Going to have to try this trick on all the cars. I have two that aren't in running condition at the moment, so can only imagine what sort of nests are in those.

There the worst ones you could've gotten, next to the ones made out of black iron, plastic barbs crack and breakdown, especially if you live in colder climates with frost shifting the ground, brass will last a lot longer

Really simple once you locate the wire for the plug.. once I had the wire I traced it all the way to the top of plug😂wire on the number 6 then I put q little mark right across from where it was originally setting, this helps because it is kinda tight to find once you pull rhe wire out.pull old plug out with extension and that was a wrap literally..ill be fair i had to remove intake for a seperate job earlier once i went ahead and changed plugs i thought dam i done my spark plugsandagain last weekene i juet followed the wire and pulled the thing out.

By the time debris is close to leaving the vents, it's gone through the blower, filter space and condenser. I'd expect to find a lot of debris in those. My cabin filter slot was PACKED with a rat nest made of shredded filter and plant debris. I never smelled a thing but after car wasn't driven for mos, the blower rattled and gave nest away.
